Beaverlodge offers an excellent environment for seniors. Complete health services are available, including an acute care hospital (4 doctors), ambulance (EMS), a health unit, a dentist and an Rexall Drugstore with pharmacy.
Amisk Court is a residential seniors lodge with self-contained rooms for independent living. The Lossing Centre, a senior’s social club, is a busy place all year long.
Other services for seniors include: Community Outreach, grocery delivery, Lifeline, Handibus, wellness clinics, home care, Alberta Aids for Daily Living and Seniors Independent Living.
Assessment and coordination for Health & Support Services in the home. Nursing Services, Support services, Alberta Aids to Daily Living, and OT & PT Services.
Assistance is available to seniors for filling out Government forms, tax preparation for low-income seniors (must not have sold principal residence or have any capital gains or losses. Cannot file a return for a deceased person.) Home Support Program – light housekeeping, Meals on Wheels and senior specific preventative programming.
The Town of Beaverlodge Community Bus runs every Wednesday to Grande Prairie for appointments and shopping and is open for any resident to ride.
