Brief Description Organization

Home care provider in the Halton region (Burlington, Oakville, Halton Hills, Milton). Registered charity. The Day and Stay Program is for individuals that live in Brantford and Brant County that have memory loss. This program is located within the John Noble Home. It is a home like setting designed and built especially for persons with dementia. The purpose of the program is to provide structured activities that help individuals maintain an optimum level of physical ability, intellectual function and social interaction. The program provides stimulation for the client and allows the caregiver the opportunity to have time for themselves. The goal is to delay placement in long term care and improve quality of life for both the individual with dementia and the care provider. Staff are sensitive, compassionate persons with additional education in interacting and caring for persons with memory problems. The Day and Stay Program offers four programs:
  •  Day Program
  • Afternoon Program
  • Overnight Stay Program
  • In-Home Therapeutic Recreation Program

Who is eligible to use your service?

Intended for adults who have a moderate or advanced dementia and require frequent cuing, direction, and supervision. Requirements: 18 years or older, have a valid health card number, NOT live in a long term health care setting Criteria: be able to tolerate a group setting, be medically stable, not pose a risk to self or others, and be able to safely perform a one-person assisted transfer (Please note a few programs accommodate heavier transfer needs - consult further with programs). Cannot accommodate: Clients who require tube feeding or mechanical lift transfers
